Hello! I am Chau.
I was born and raised in the south of Vietnam but currently living in Toronto, Canada. My passion is visual arts, especially fashion and graphic design.
In 2014, after realizing that the current Vietnam market was flooded with plenty of low-quality T-shirts from the neighboring countries, I decided to produce a small batch of 300 basic and quality locally made T-shirts to test the approval of Vietnamese consumers. It was sold out within hours in the flea market, which then led to the opening of the Owlfox boutique. The store became a popular shopping destination for young professionals looking for quality but inexpensive T-shirts and other essential items. Each creation in the boutique was a limited edition because all materials were surplus from factories and fashion houses, which means the majority of them were in a very small quantity.
I am currently learning more about how I can make more impact on sustainability as a designer. I believe sustainable fashion has to take into account the entire supply chain and life cycle of a garment, from where and how it is made, and when it ends up in the landfills.
